Welcome to A Big Heart Foundation’s 2nd Annual Bourbon Tasting! We invite you to join us on October 17, 2024, for an exclusive and unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship of bourbon, all for a great cause. A Big Heart Foundation, Inc., is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of keeping the hearts of Charlotte beating through service and support to those who need it most – our community’s youngest citizens. Founded by Jack Burke of BRK Global Marketing, Inc. in 2007, A Big Heart Foundation, Inc. has supported over 50 different organizations and charities that enrich the lives of Charlotte’s youth through initiatives ranging from health and education to overall wellbeing. At 80 proof Blanton’s Special Reserve Green Bottle Bourbon is ideal for those new to single barrel bourbons. It has a slightly floral nose that conveys whispers of cedar and raisin in between soft vanilla notes.

Kentucky Peerless Bourbon Bottle

PEERLESS DOUBLE OAK KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY

Double Oak was born of a happy accident when a leaky barrel forced the distilling team to transfer its liquid to a new charred oak barrel. Exposure to that second barrel gave the whiskey amped-up flavors and lots more complexity. This is a bourbon that has gone into overdrive, and it handles the road just fine. Its syrupy sweet texture is checked by the oak influence, and the palate opens to flavors aplenty—dried peaches, warm apple pie, Christmas spice, gingerbread, raisin cake, chocolate, and pumpkin purée. Perfect as a holiday warmer or a backyard barbecue sipper, this is a whiskey for all seasons.

STAGG JR. KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY

Uncut and unfiltered, this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade and boasts the bold character that is reminiscent of George T. Stagg himself.
Rich, sweet, chocolate and brown sugar flavors mingle in perfect balance with the bold rye spiciness. The boundless finish lingers with hints of cherries, cloves and smokiness.

W.L. WELLER AGED 12 YEARS BOURBON WHISKEY

As part of the wheated bourbon family, this twelve year old W.L. Weller is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons. This offering is a smooth, easy-going and balanced bourbon with a beautiful deep bronze color.
Aromas of lanolin, almond, creamed corn and toasty vanilla. The mid-palate flavor is heavily wheated, layered and moderately sweet. Long, oaky, and intensely smooth finish.
